Performance
A 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine is standard. It gives you 200 horsepower and 191 pound-feet of torque, and it allows you to tow up to 3,500 pounds. This engine should be more than sufficient for many of our Orcutt customers, and it'll make the truck feel energetic.
We recognize that some local drivers prefer something a little bit more powerful. In that case, we're happy to offer a 3.6-liter V6. This V6 increases towing capacity to 7,000 pounds, and it makes 308 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque.
If you'd like to maximize your torque, consider the Duramax 2.8-liter turbodiesel. This engine delivers 369 pound-feet of torque along with 181 horsepower, and it gives you a maximum towing capacity of 7,700 pounds.
Trim Levels
In our new inventory of Colorados, we have four trims. Those in Arroyo Grande who want to limit their expenses as much as possible will be pleased with the entry-level WT trim. Its features include 17-inch wheels, a locking tailgate, a 3.5-inch driver information center, and a seven-inch touchscreen. That touchscreen comes with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, components that we know our Goleta customers will appreciate.
The LT trim is next, and it's upgraded with an eight-inch touchscreen. In addition, it has an EZ Lift & Lower tailgate and a remote locking tailgate. Its power-adjustable driver's seat can move in six ways, while the WT has a power-adjustable seat that moves in four ways. Many people will find its cruise control program, remote keyless entry, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror helpful during daily commuting.
Anyone who loves hitting the trails will be pleased with the Z71 package. The Z71 trim is equipped with an off-road suspension, all-terrain tires, and an automatic locking rear differential. Fog lamps and projector-beam headlamps enhance its style. It benefits from having a 4.2-inch driver information center, a more comprehensive infotainment system with voice recognition, cloth, leatherette seats, and remote start.
Sitting at the top of the lineup, the ZR2 is the most rugged Colorado available. It has increased ground clearance and an Autotrac two-speed transfer case, and it features off-road rocker protection and advanced suspension dampers. Its front seats are power-adjustable, and they're appointed in leather.
Configurations
The WT and LT are available with extended cabs or crew cabs. The extended cab is matched with a long box, while the crew cab can come with a short or long box. With the Z71 with 2WD, the only choice is to have a crew cab with a short box. However, if it's equipped with 4WD, it can have the same options as found on the WT and LT. Finally, the ZR2 can be configured with an extended cab and a long box or a crew cab and a short box.
Safety
You'll feel safe driving this truck in a variety of conditions. It has StabiliTrak, a program that enhances stability and traction. It can also be set up with forward collision alert, lane departure warning, and rear park assist. These programs give you an extra pair of eyes. Every model has a rear vision camera, with some of them having cameras that work in high definition.
